7TV, BTTV and FFZ emotes
Global and channel emotes render right in chat, animated ones included. They also get their own sections in Twitch's emote picker.
7TV, BTTV and FFZ emotes for Twitch on Android
PurpleTV ReVive is a free, open-source mod for the official Twitch app. It brings 7TV, BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ emotes to mobile chat, plus pronouns, offline translation, video filters and a long list of fixes Twitch never got around to.
No more reading KEKW as five sad letters. Chat is a picture book again.
PurpleTV ReVive runs inside the official Twitch app, so there is nothing new to learn. Every feature has its own switch under Settings, PurpleTV.
Global and channel emotes render right in chat, animated ones included. They also get their own sections in Twitch's emote picker.
Type a few letters of any emote and pick it from a list above the chat box. No colon, no scrolling through 600 emotes like it's 2016.
Long-press an emote to pin it. Sort favorites into folders or tabs, and keep a different set for each streamer.
Tap an emote to see it big, who uploaded it, and who in chat has been spamming it the most.
7TV, FFZ, BTTV, Chatterino, DankChat, Chatsen and Homies badges, plus pronoun tags from pronouns.alejo.io.
Messages in other languages get a translation underneath, made on your phone. Nothing gets sent anywhere.
See what a deleted message said, struck through or greyed out. Works as a regular viewer, not just as a mod.
Nine formats, seconds included. Twitch can't do that. We checked.
Tint a row when it mentions a word or comes from someone, and make the messages you never want to see vanish without a gap.
In channels you moderate, a line in chat says who timed out or banned whom, and why.
Fix a washed-out or too-dark stream as it plays, or go full VHS glitch. Overlays, blend modes and presets included.
Volume boost, compressor, voice clarity and a 16-band equaliser. For the streamer whose mic peaks every five minutes.
Captions on live streams: the stream's own, or speech to text made on your phone in seven languages. Translated too, if you like.
Turn ads down to as little as 5% of their volume. They still play in full and still pay the streamer. Your ears just get a break.
Closes or pauses Twitch after 15 minutes to 2 hours. Built for the 3 a.m. "one more stream".
One button clips the last moments of a live stream and saves the video to your phone.
Bonus chests claim themselves in the background. You're welcome.
The same setup on every device, through one small file in your own Google Drive. No sign-up.
Leaderboards, the hype train banner, Stories, the Bits button and more, one switch each.
PurpleTV tells you when a new version is out, says what changed, and installs it inside the app.
An app you install from outside the Play Store should earn your trust. Here is how this one tries to.
The full source is on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 license. Read it, build it yourself, or open an issue.
Every download on this site is a direct link to GitHub Releases, with the file's SHA-256 checksum shown so you can check it.
It works inside the official Twitch app. PurpleTV never asks for your password, and there is no account to make.
Ads and subs are how streamers get paid, so those stay. Ad volume only turns the sound down.
Pick the one that fits your phone. Not sure? The first one is right for most people.
For Android 12L or newer. Uninstall the Play Store Twitch first, then install this one. It updates itself after that.
Get it on GitHubFor Android 8.0 or newer, and the one to pick below Android 12L. Same steps as above.
Get it on GitHubFor LSPosed, or to patch your own Twitch with LSPatch. On LSPosed you can also install it from the Repository tab and get updates there.
Get it on GitHubUsing the module with LSPosed or LSPatch? The full steps are in the README.
Yes. It's free and open source under the Apache 2.0 license. No ads, no paywall, no premium tier.
No. The ready-to-install Twitch works on any Android phone from 8.0 up. Root with LSPosed, or LSPatch, is only needed if you want the module on its own.
The full source code is public on GitHub, and every download comes straight from GitHub Releases with a SHA-256 checksum. It runs inside the official Twitch app and never asks for your password. As with any app from outside the Play Store, only download it from this site or the GitHub page.
Any modified Twitch client is against Twitch's Terms of Service, so use it at your own risk. PurpleTV ReVive doesn't block ads or touch payments, and most of what it changes only shows up on your own screen.
No, on purpose. Ads and subscriptions are how Twitch and streamers get paid. Ad volume can turn an ad down to 5% of its loudness, but the ad still plays in full and still counts for the streamer.
The current release is built for Twitch 31.7.0 (Android 12L or newer) and Twitch 31.1.2 (Android 8.0 or newer), and picks the right setup by itself. Twitch renames its internals in every update, so other versions will most likely break some features.
No. PurpleTV and bttv-android brought 7TV, BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ emotes to Twitch on Android first. PurpleTV ReVive picks up their chat features for today's Twitch app.
No. PurpleTV ReVive is Android only.
Open Twitch's Settings, tap PurpleTV, and switch off PurpleTV enabled at the top. Restart Twitch and you're back to stock Twitch. Your settings are kept for when you switch it back on.
